Shalakya Tantra Department

Shalakya Tantra – ENT & Ophthalmology in Ayurveda

Shalakya Tantra is the specialized branch of Ayurveda dealing with the diagnosis and management of diseases above the clavicle (neck) — primarily the eyes (Netra), ears (Karna), nose (Nasa), head (Shir), mouth/throat (Mukha), and related structures.

The department follows classical descriptions from Sushruta Samhita (Uttara Tantra) and other texts, teaching advanced Kriyakalpas (special procedures) like Tarpana, Putapaka, Nasya, Karna Poorana, Anjana, and modern correlations for conditions such as refractive errors, cataracts, sinusitis, hearing loss, and chronic headaches.
