Rachana Sharir Department

Rachana Sharir – Human Anatomy in Ayurveda

Rachana Sharir is the branch of Ayurveda that deals with the study of human body structure — both gross (Sthula) and subtle (Sukshma) — through the Ayurvedic perspective. It is the Ayurvedic equivalent of modern human anatomy.

The department provides detailed knowledge of body parts, organs, tissues (Dhatus), channels (Srotas), marmas (vital points), and structural relationships as described in classical texts like Sushruta Samhita (Sharir Sthana), Charaka Samhita, and Ashtanga Hridaya. Practical training includes cadaveric dissection, bone & organ identification, and correlation with modern anatomy.
