Dravyaguna – Ayurvedic Pharmacology & Medicinal Plants

Dravyaguna Vigyan is the branch of Ayurveda that deals with the study of medicinal substances (Dravya), their properties (Guna), pharmacological actions (Karma), therapeutic uses, dosage forms, and identification of medicinal plants, minerals, and animal products.

The department focuses on detailed knowledge of classical and contemporary medicinal flora, pharmacognosy, standardization, therapeutic indications, contraindications, and modern pharmacological correlation of Ayurvedic drugs as described in texts like Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita, Bhavaprakasha, and Dravyaguna Nighantus.
