Vindhya Shiksha Samiti, Balaghat was established with a clear vision: to educate and empower the poor and marginalized sections of society who are often denied proper education opportunities. Operating primarily in the Mahakoshal region of Madhya Pradesh — and with a broader impact across India — the society focuses on providing accessible, quality education from Nursery through Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and professional courses including medical and technical streams.

The society is actively involved in higher education, skill development, training programs, poverty alleviation initiatives, and youth empowerment. It supports grants to allied organizations and provides advocacy, advice, and information services to promote education and sustainable livelihoods.

Today, Vindhya Shiksha Samiti serves more than 5,000 students with world-class education and training facilities. Students are nurtured to become agents of change — equipped with knowledge, skills, and values to contribute meaningfully to society. Through innovative schemes such as “Earn while you Learn”, post-education job placement support, and sustainable livelihood training, the society has successfully reduced vulnerability to disruptive influences in the region.

The Sardar Patel University — a State Private University — was established by Vindhya Shiksha Samiti under the Madhya Pradesh Niji Vishwavidyalaya (Sthapana Avam Sanchalan) Sanshodhan Adhiniyam, 2018 (Act No. 26 of 2018), receiving the assent of the Governor on 23 July 2018 and published in the Madhya Pradesh Gazette (Extraordinary) on 28 July 2018.
